This Container Tilter Selector Guide has been designed to help you determine which model container tilter is right for your application. In many cases, it will display more than one result along with additional information to help narrow your choice even more.

 

We realize that there are thousands of different sizes and shapes describing the parts stored in containers. For the purpose of handling these parts in or out of containers, these can be grouped simply as tall, short, large, and small. Likewise, these parts are either stored vertically, horizontally or randomly. Examples of all of these groupings are shown below. In order to use this guide, you will be asked to describe your actual parts within the description of these groupings. Finally, we are also aware of the tremendous variety of containers that are available, but again, for handling purposes, these only need to be placed in one of the three styles shown.

The vast majority (90% +) of applications are represented by the part/container combinations shown here. If your unique combination of container and parts do not conform to any of these combinations, please contact Southworth for a specific equipment recommendation.

Part size:
Tall Vertical
Tubes, pipes, bars, rods, or other similar parts typically greater than 18" long standing on end at container bottom
Short Vertical
Tubes, pipes, bars, rods, or other similar parts typically less than 18" long standing on end at container bottom.
Long Horizontal
Tubes, pipes, bars, rods, or other similar parts lying flat across majority of container width.
Short Horizontal
Tubes, pipes, bars, rods, or other similar parts lying flat across sections of container width.
Small Parts-Random
Typically fabricated parts shaped liked balls, boxes, cups, etc. tossed into the container.
Small Parts-Organized
Typically rectangular shaped parts such as boxes, stacked or layered in a container.

Tall Container
Typically greater than or equal to 27" inside height
Tall Container
with Drop Gate

Short Container
Typically less than 18" inside height.
